Hi i'm new here, unfortunately this is my first serious attempt at coloring so i'm currently getting my ass kicked by this picture Confused . Any help or input would be appreciated.

Actually, you are doing well. Only tip I can give is to increase the contrast beween light and dark. The painting needs more highlights! Light and dark work great used against eachother.

I've never been a fan of 'push the contrast', so I'm not going to second sinister's comment, but I do agree that it's looking really nice!

Like the colour palette especially.
As you tighten it up and detail it, it would be really nice if you left some large areas quite plain, to play up the graphic style so it's not just a realist rendition, imho :)

I guess my progblem was focusing on rendering the figure before actually putting any real thought into the background. Although i'm problably going with fred's suggestion, it didn't look too hot whenI tried to add sky/clouds and i'm really getting sick of playing hunt the color. thanks for the feedback.

i think the colors are great. they play nice together. you need more drawing, more structure. you need to lay the foundation so that you have something to color.

I' d rather say that your kicking those colors ass. just keep adding highlights and shadows and this should turn out very nicely indeed
