The colours and values look good, Capt. Fred.
It does look a little like a planar projection though? almost like there was no vanishing point. not necessarely impossible, zooming from afar would do that I suppose. |

Done for Halo2, never used. Or not yet. maybe. It is 10000 px high, and was painted pretty loose, speed painting like, but just at a fine level. So maybe it is a little SP-like. And it is not worth it's own thread. so there |

hot shit the spooge!
how do you make 'random' shapes on the floor look so cool? !
drawing/design skill I guess. The left cheif's forearm looks a tad confusing and the arbiter guy's head is a little confusing too, but I like the level of detail!
ozan, affected, thanks. I don't know why, but I do like a bit of telephoto perspective. |

At the risk of sounding like a fanboy, I will analize this image.
The image presence a certain feeling, "Hunter/victim" feelling. And I am not too sure that Sarge is hunting the alien. But once it gets close, it will whip out the knife and slice sarge into pieces, and then you will hear a loud noise that say "HUMILIATION!!!!!!!!" |

Yes, it IS art. And it IS watmough inspired.
Skulmonkeys: I don't think I'm the right person to teach lighting theory.
Fred: Love the lighting.
Spooge: Love the floor.

matthew, ur progressing really fast. i really admire the 2nd and 3rd painting.
seth1, great work man. nice painting for a start!
spooge-demon, of course i love the work. the use of lighting is really great. and might i compliment the brushing. the way u've done it, if one looks at the piece without concentration it looks real. but if u disect it, u see brush strokes. i love that. i love how u made it look very very close to real but at the same time, u can see that it's a painting
belial, heysoos, and omi-kun and sup_ben, good work to u guys also |

well, envy-inspiring as usual, spooge demon. There's a small thing I'm not really comfortable with though, the texture on the chief. I'm not sure what it is, but it looks kind of like a bit too much sharpen filter, or perhaps it's just jpeg compression, but the tiny texture on the green suit seems distracing to me. Maybe it IS unsharp mask or something, since you've had to scale it down a lot and I see some signs of sharpening at the edges as well... From a bit further away it looks great, but close up it is a little distracting to me. |

Its been fun following the thread since the last time i posted 2000 pgs ago
ax--hv, you have done an outstanding job on everyone of your speeds throughout the last little while. I was looking at one of your ship in the ocean speeds and I left the room for a moment, but when i came back i saw the pic from a distance and I could not tell that painting from a photograph, the second i got back to my chair it was on my desktop Fantastic !
Spooge, and they didnt accept that for cover art !?! It gets the cover in my book, that and my new desktop
abstract demon ( i should stick with the abstracts, you can skip over values!!! )

something im working on for a client. these r 2 speedpaintings of it. the dawn/sunrise one is a concept where the second one, a very loose reference was used. its going to be really harshly based rather then realism so that's y u see the non-realistic cloud and all in the dawn/sunrise one
