"Shao-houng"(means "Little red"--but she actualy became quite big after the 2nd month)died yesterday afternoon.

She has always been very healthy and normal, but yesterday afternoon, when she followed my mother back from a walk, she suddenly started barking and jumping around like a mad dog(which has never happened). Then she fell to the floor, her body convulsing in spasms, the whites of her eyes were showing, and she foamed at the mouth. Within 30 minutes she was dead.

When the vet got to the house, she was still alive, but he took one look and said she's not going to survive. He performed CPR on her out of courtesy, but he kept on saying it was useless. It turned out she caught some common dog disease in China, which is a virus that will suddenly errupt in the brain and burn out the nerves and cause the brain to spasm to death. There is no cure, and even vaccines won't help.

She was a fucking awesome dog, always friendly, energetic, and affectionate. We'll miss her.

R.I.P., Shao-Houng.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Luna. My dog died in '93 and I still expect to have her meet me at my door sometimes. I really miss her.

I'm really sorry to hear that man, dogs can sometimes be better friends than the real people in one's life.

My dog died a few months ago.. he was a Golden Retriever. They're my favorite animal on Earth, I love 'em to death. I'm gonna get a new one soon, but as you likely know.. it isn't ever the same.

At least you gave her a good life while you had the chance, and that's the best anyone can ever do.

Well...death and the fact that everyone dies doesn't really suck. It has a "meaning":

quote
Quote:
...take death, for example, a great deal of our effort goes into avoiding it, we make extraordinary efforts to delay it, and often consider its intrusion a tragic event, yet we'd find it hard to live without it. Death gives meaning to our lives, it gives importance and value to time. Time would become meaningless if there were too much of it. If death were indefinitely put off, the human psychie would end up, well like the gambler from the Twilight Zone episode.

That was off Spiritual Machines by Our Lady Peace. I think it's fairly true.

I'm really sorry to hear that Luna! It sucks when you spend everyday playing with suddenly disappear. I know how you feel, when i used to live in VN, alot of my pets die. Only a few died of natural disease, but the rest are stolen for fucking RESTAURANT. Yeap, cats, dogs, they eats them all. I think they're running out of fucking beef or something.

How old is she Luna?

What a bizarre "common dog disease."

Sounds like your dog ate something. What a bummer.

All her photos are at my mom's house, and she's packed them all(she's going back to the U.S.). Whenever I took pics of her, it's always with my mom's film camera(because she's technically my mom's dog, even though she's closer to me), so she has all the negatives. I should've taken some pics of her with my digital camera. I'll ask my mom to give me some of her pics when she's settled in and unpacked.

She basically looks like a short-haired Golden Retriever, with red fur.

Man, I miss her floppy ears.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.

So sorry to hear that Luna. What a terrible thing to have to go through and to be totally helpless, not being able to help your puppy.
I totally dread the day my doggies die. They are so much a part of the family.
Sounds like you need to get a puppy for yourself. It will make things much easier.

^!!^
