Ok, I need more place on my PC...
And I want to buy an external harddrive USB2 with some 200Go.
But before buy it, i want to have some comment about the differents mark... ^^
For the moment, i have used only Maxtor without any pb...
But What about LaCie, MSI, Storex...
Does anybody have an external harddrive ?
What is the best! ?? More stability, less crash, less noisy...
Thanks for replying! _________________ Pierrick l'Illustrateur des bois.

Consumer hard drives are mostly the same these days, in terms of reliability. Make sure that everything important is backed-up on another disk.
I have an 80 gig Western Digital that I use for backups and unimportant files. It does just fine.
Seagate, Western Digital, and Maxtor are all good brands. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

I use a Lacie 500GB Firewire drive. It's nice.
Everyone here in A\V-Land (Los Angeles) trusts and relies on LaCie for all their big projects. |

I recently bought a ADS Tech PyroDrive drive enclosure; it has USB2 and Firewire connectivity (which is faster than the older USB1). The great thing about it is that I have a Plexwriter DVD-+R drive in it and is at this moment archiving production stuff. If I need to I can easily take the Plexwriter out and put a hard drive in to backup, move stuff, etc. This way I can use multiple hard drives (not tied down to a specific brand or size) for different backups - if I want.
Just an idea. _________________ - Tom Carter

don't buy Iomega, just crashed after more than a year.
Just got a maxtor 120 gigs, for 120 (euro) bugs .
It has a nice one touch backup function which I like. _________________ marek |
