I really like the abstraction you've done with the background. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Cool picture and I enjoy the style.
But there is a problem I have with this, and it might be just me, but the impression it gives me is that of a photograph run through a few photoshop filters. I don't mean that to be insulting or anything, but that's just the impression I get at first glance every time. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

Sumaleth... I agree it does have a bit of that appearance. It is a technique I've been developing to speed up the production of an image. I trace an image with a simple line and then use a custom displacement filter to totally stir up the image, leaving the line untouched. Next I digitally paint over the stirred up color to end up with an painting like so:
Then I reintroduce the lines, modify them a bit and add final texture using a combination of layer opacity, brushes at low flow and quick mask... so the entire image is finished in about 3 or 4 hours.
BTW... I do not agree that it should be bothersome that it looks like a photo run through some filters. In this case, that is not the case, but when that technique is used well, it can be very beautiful. However, I will agree that it is rarely done well ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ HonePie.com
