Hi everybody, Im new to this forum. I work as a tattoo artist in Sweden and have recently started to experiment with digital art.
Over the years I have mostly worked in watercolors but also some charcoal.
I have a question about watercolor in painter. If I want to scan in linedrawings an color it with watercolor to get this effect (painting done by me) how is the best way to achive that and also in printable quality. I have read alot of the backpost I tried to figure it out but it would be very helpful with some pointers so I could get started.
Any advices or tips would be very apprictiated.

first off, hello fellow tattooer!the koi and snake look nice!
do you have painter now? have you tried to work with it the same as you would traditionally?
you could probably set things up( in painter) to work in a similar way to traditional.it would be easier to help if you had more specific questions.

nice to se another tattoer here. Yes I have painter 8 and I have played around with the watercolors but it is really hard to get it look like the traditional work, and not like a computercolored comicimage.
What setup i recommanded to use if I want to achive the "traditional" look.
I really draw alot of desingns and want to be able to color them in a faster way that I do now.

ok,i did some experimenting and this is what i came up with.keep in mind that i did this pretty quick(an hour total, this version took about 15 minutes).
i used primarily the grainy wash bristle and dry bristle brushes and the french watercolour paper texture at 132 %.
the image size was 2200x2500. higher resolutions generally give you better textures.
i also scanned a small(4x6) piece of watercolour paper with some burnt sienna on it for the background texture, with layer blending mode set to multiply.
i'm gonna try some more so let me know how you make out....-cheers.

Looks great. I like the sketch! You could add more detail, I think.
