matthew, i'll join spooge and his previous comment concerning your latest pieces. you're going into the right direction, without taking the regular path.
you're designing your own path for sure, and for this, bravo!
(you technique is working, i'll leave for a month and then come back! ) _________________ sparth.com - art on Flickr |

Thanks Odds, sumaleth, Tepox, Eol. he sumaleth, i was involved in that job for the duration doing the storyboards, concepts and mattes and it was looking like a nice spot. but then the client made an 11th hour decision to make everything old looking and sepia toned. ah clients, u gotta love 'em. here's each shot with the storyboard, quick concepts, and matte paintings. sorry to spam the speedy thread, but i thought it might be interesting for people to see how these quick paintings involved into an actual shot.

I have been working on a scene for a while and tonight decided to let go and just follow whatever my brush decided to do. This is a true speed drawing as it took about 20 minutes to create this mayhem. It reminds me of 80's metal album covers (and I was listening to ride the lightning).
Im working on a version of this that has actual potential, but it takes alot longer
btw, this is the most inspiring forum I visit... this has raised the bar far beyond the competition in college. _________________ not "smallpox" I said "small box" |

man I was uninspired today...
More of the same mistakes that I keep making and the same method I keep using... I need to break the mold that's growing on me.
