Sorry, i would have updated sooner but we had some comp problems. Anywho, i'm in the midst of a site redesign, and here's some new work that deals with dramatic lighting. I hope everything is the correct contrast of light and dark. I'm working on a monitor that slowly becomming more dark, so...

these are nice :) especially the 2nd and 4th
I can't figure out the 3rd one to well, slightly confused by it.
Have you tried adding curve to the lines of light in the first so they appear to roll over the volume of the head, body, creases etc? It's quite graphic as it is, and of course accurate if the light was coming from exactly our point of view, but still it could be interesting, and it might gain some of the very convincing feel of space in the second.

Those shadow pics are dam nice. But I think you can do work on the 1st one more, I really dont think people are flat. Great start though! |
