allpetter, many thanks petter, great stuff from you lately.

Capt.Flush, many thanks Flush, I am really glad to hear that cause sometimes it feels like I am getting worse. neat concept u got there.

Smile

ok I am going to the Skateboard-park today so just a quick angle scribble, still can't decide the composition for the final piece.
Thanks again for the warm welcome guys, this is truly the best thread in the web and the only place that I will visit from now on. Got fed up with CA and cgtalk and those forums, seems CA only wanna have help with the interface from famous guys.
sorry for the long message.

have a nice weekend everyone. Smile

nice nice

capt.flushgarden: hey nice!.. skyscrapers, fire and dead dangling bodies always works for me =))... the more loose painting in the upper area got my head tilting a lil bit down the left corner to the more detailed section though.. of course. I couldnt resist cropping it in PS... and it was a very pleasant view if i may say so.. the running taxi got a larger role... dunno if i(aye!) myself would've dared cutting a piece of that quality.. but since its someone elses work there's no problem with it Wink ... love your workz.

and about swedish art-schools matthew, flush .. EERRROR,NADA,CRAP.. but do please tell me if ya find something Smile... im thinking of getting into some fine art school here though... its still 5 years free school Wink.. got rejected last year.. but ill have to try again. (no digital stuff this time ffs!.. and no correct anatomy etc. etc. Very Happy)

here's ma blarf:

mlare, welcome to sijun.

watmough, hehe. Smile

RasselTassel, don't they have some fine-art schools in denmark aswell? could maybe be something. Fine-art is what I want too but choice of school is really gonna get difficult.

Mon, many thanks there Mon. Smile Really nice latest batch there from you btw that u posted earlier, I didn't bump that thread since I came in a little bit late. u work for a game company now?

Me getting old and it is really obvious when u are standing on a skateboard and all the kids are flying around and u are not. hehe.
ok a bold experiment

ok later

This is probably my favorite painting in the world. I'd like to see it in person.
So naturally, I had to paint it.

This is a demo for my class tomorrow. The reference is from Fight Club. I did it partially to help me figure out how to explain how explain how to paint to people who have never painted from life and some who have never had any life drawing. Also I did it to remind myself what it's like to paint in acrylic as I haven't done it in a really long time. The first seven images are shot with a digital camera, but the battery ran out. The last one is from my scanner. You can see the color influence of the light. Unfortunately, the ferrule slipped off of my brush shaft and rolled under my desk and I can't get to it.

So I'm off to go buy some more brushes. This demo is as done as it's going to get. Still, I'm happy with the overall values. If enough people point out the jacked up eyes, I might fix that in photoshop. Otherwise, the tweaked head shape is intentional.

Fred: I'm still chewing on your answer on brights and darks...
malare: your stuff reminds me of Cthonic Divinity I think his name was. Is dat you?
Rassel: I like how you just seem to be carefree about the whole thing.
That in itself makes "it" good.
annisahmad: b/w studies aren't a bad thing...looks like it's about to be the kick. Color is hurting my brain right now. Value first DAMMIT.

10-11/100 - 30 min. each

matthew: I guess they have... but hey.. its still modern scandinavian fine-art Wink.. so i guess i might aswell go to a school here in sweden... that painting of yours are upsetting me btw... i guess its fine art! \o/ ... nah, im not bashing "fine-art"(trendwhorefuckersbutarentweall).. its just not feeding my brain at the moment... i guess im leaning towards illustration more than fine-art right now (duh).. but i dont wanna label myself... gargh... in sweden u cant say ure an artist either... there's not really any good word thats covering both the fine-artist(konstnr) and the illustrator area... errh.. sijounist? o_O

reakshun: heh.. nice comment =) thx. Your paintings are working... but remember the golden opportunity when painting in B/W.. u can go berserk with the painting!.. so much easier to control the values obviously.. now u finally can paint the things u couldnt quite get a hang of when painting with colors.... think bigger and paint what u cant... and yeah.. screw the time. =)

mon, mitsui: tasty-nice.

oi..
