I've been working on a sci fi city painting for the last 2 days. I just got it done today. Check it out here. http://www.chrismayernik.com/artgallery/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pos=0

digitalxtreem: wow. I love the amazing lighting and texture.
( saves to hard drive for later studying ) .

I haven't posted any robots lately, so heres one. One hour and 10 minutes in photoshop 7. I must say I like photoshops color picker much more then painters. Painters is so inaccurate.

thanks ozan, Eyewoo! Rumpleforeskin will be proud...

starglider2- I think they are the default brushes that come with PS 7 and 8. Kinda looks like a melted tennis shoe sole pattern. Theres a whole bunch of them. About lady and bunny-??? I did a lady and bunny?

bond concepts- saucer concept was provided. Wanted a retro feel- the designer was Sir Ken Adams, who designed the original Bond movies.

3rd is not really a speed paint, but close enough

Hi there!

Amazing place you have here. I'm a big fan! Im just beginning to learn to paint in PS and hopefully once I start to get the hang of it I can contribute around here and get some pointers from you talented folks!

Just wanted to quickly give a shout out to zhuzhu for this piece he posted Oct 6th...

zhuzhu wrote:

Kinda reminds me of this piece I had posted on a sketchthread of mine over at ConceptArt.Org on Oct 2nd:

http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=30057&page=2

Yeesh! My colors suck! heheh! Well, Im still learning. ZhuZhu I'm flattered, your painting is very nice. Hope this doesnt seem petty or snarky, I was just very surprised when a buddy of mine pointed this out to me. Wink

Cheers!~~~JadeDragon (Patrick)

(edit: OOH, I cant believe I accidentally landed this silliness right after an amazing update from Mr. Mullins. Spooge Demon, those are beautiful pieces...especially love that Steel Foundry...wow!)

Anyway I have been experimenting a lot with watercolors and gouache and also with layer tecnique with oils, me still have a long way to go.

Here's a couple of different experiments and one scribble sketch with angels I did today, a plan ahead project for a painting.
hope I am still welcome.

a real big one this one, 3 metres wide and I really like to work this way with wc.

see you

Lots of great stuff, it feels that this thread keeps on getting better. Keep up!

Hey spooge,

stupid question: are those for a new Bond film, or for EA's game?

Sorry no pic (again), too busy drawing work stuff that can't be shown.

Spooge, Startling! Breathtaking.

Do you have to do much thinking when you paint, or do you find it as easy as you make it look, from having had so much experience (among other things)? Is it just a matter of implementation, this-goes-there that-goes-there, 2 hours later, 'that looks done', or do you have to think and bully your painting till it works? Incredible.

Elliot, GORGEOUS.

(my girl was looking shit so i out of focused her and focuse on the horizon. what a solution.)

and now for something completely different- this is a speed model/painted thingy. The base model is done by a freind of mine. Then i did the details in zbrush and rendered in maya and then painted the colors and eye in photoshop. about 2hours work all in all.

this place is just lovely as always.
spooge those are nice. i loved your first bond sketches. they are awesome.

elliot-im diggin it!
