I got a new computer that has the temperature LED on the front and it says my computer is around 88-93 degrees farenheight. Is that good or bad, what is the normal temp that is suggested.
I wanna know if i should or shouldnt add another fan, i already have two(one on the side and one on top) |

That is pretty good. Hopefully the thermomitor node is actually touching the cpu die. I was able to tape my thermomitor node directly to the cpu die on the side where it is raised above the ceramic base. This way I could get accurate temperature reading of one of my cpu's without disrupting contact of my waterblock (except for the density of the aluminum tape). _________________ http://prettydiff.com/ |

If you are using a laptop, its fan would not even start at this low temperature. You should be concerned when it reaches 140, assuming it is giving you accurate CPU temperature. |

There's really no way to know what the temperature reading on the case means unless you know exactly where the temperature probe is. If your machine is relatively stable during all tasks, your temperature is fine. If it starts freezing or crashing during intense CPU or GPU activity, then you might have a temperature problem.
But if not, don't worry about what temperature the computer says it is. The thermistor probably isn't accurate anyway. Your CPU will automatically shut down if it gets too hot.
And I suspect that the temperature you're seeing is the temperature of the air inside the case. Where exactly inside the case? Good question. That's why the number is worthless. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |
