Gross or net? I live in a socialist state called The United States of America where a third of my income goes to support bloated social programs that force the top 1% of wage-earners to support 99% of the government's budget.
Seriously though, if you're looking for a job, don't just look at the bottom line. I make a lot less than I could in some other markets, but the city I live in has a low cost of living and property taxes are laughably low. I also invest in a pre-tax 401K, with 2% matched by the company. I get 3 weeks paid vacation per year and full health and dental insurance for only $30/month. I also work for a great boss who is only a few months older than me and has similar interests to mine. He also has a large software budget he's willing to spend on any non-work related software we want
Best of all, I do very little actual work for all of this. Right now, I'm getting paid to type messages on Sijun.
Can't beat that!
BTW, I can't actually post my salary, because some of my cow-orkers read this board. Eeeek! I may have already said too much! |
