I had an idea and I want to know if anyone would like to make it happen?
Ok, the wacom tablet atm is tooo expensive for me. What if instead of a wacom tablet someone can create a pen which can replace a mouse, but has a very sensitive ball/laser/fiberoptic????
Something like this:
You would be able to pres a button with your index finger like on the mouse, or just lock it into place when you are drawing. |

The problem with using a pen only is cursor location. On a Wacom, you can lift your pen off the surface, set it down on another place on the pad, and the cursor will jump to its corresponding place.
This pen, on the other hand, would have to work like a mouse. The cursor stays put, no matter where you put your pen in relation to the last point, basically like an Etch-A-Sketch. Useful for contour drawings, but horrid for painting. The obvious solution is to put a button on the pen that activates ink flow or whatever, but then you'd have to hold a button down the entire time you're painting.

The cord would make it very difficult to work with, I think.

Well I said above you will have a feature that locks the button in place, and or the end of the pen itself will be a button.

We, whoever else, can create a wireless one which will take maybe like 40 minutes to recharge, or a replacable battery..

If you plan on buying that pen for 100 bucks, why not buy a cheap wacom instead? You'll get a graphire 3 for almost the same price (at least in sweden). I use one, and it's good enough for me so far... |

Well I thought the cheapest on was round 300 dollars, and I thought a pen like this would only cost me around 70  Thanks for the heads up... agian.
... on second thought, the graphire tablet for 99 bucks barely has anyroom, with the pen, I can probably get a much bigger space. |
