I posted this in the speedpainting section a long time ago and just recently started working on it again. Im wondering what I should work on, add, take away, or anything else from the picture to make it look better. It may not show up because photobuckets slow today so I had to host it some where else. Thanks...

Ok, I'm not the right person to make paintovers on your pictures, but I couldn't resist!
Changes: tried to separate the background and the wall, tried to define the shadowed areas a bit. If you don't think it's in the right direction, I'll take it down.

Wow, your paintover looks alot better than mine. After seeing yours, I can really tell that I over did the shadows. Thanks for the tips. Im going to get rid of the flame/ burner thing and clear up the bottom of the image. Any clue on what I should do with the big empty space on the left? I was going to put a stair case in it, but it didnt look right.
I suck at painting textures so thats why his helmet looks bad. |

Your picture is coming along very nicely, might I suggest you work on lighting and shadow much more? That is prolly the only thing that gives an image it's depth. Honestly, take a day or two of rest, come back and take a look at your pic again, some of the lighting and shadows dont look like their in the right place, other then that GREAT WORK. |

Thing is, when I started this, I didnt even think about where the light was coming from. Stupid of me, I know but theres a first time for everything.
The background used to be the outdoors, and when I added the wall, it changed the light source.
I actually changed the entire color scheme just so I could have a fresh look at it, to fix the shadows and highlights, but it still dont work. It looks like there still isnt a definite light source, so yea, I agree with you.
This ones garbage, Im just trying to make it halfway decent. |

I like the angles you've put on this piece. The early morning feel is cool, I love that time of day! _________________ May the God of all creation bless you abundantly
