it is just kinda odd looking, I am not too sure what it is. I can see there are antlers there, and an arm and 2 figures, but it looks like you are unsure where the lightsource is comming from, so as a viewer I am easily confused. the perspective up top is nice, but i am just confused with the light source, I think that is one of the main things that is holding this picture back from what it could become. Nice color and the values are pretty sweet.. keep going it will come together pretty nice.

Looks like where The Beast from Revelations goes to church; horns and all. ......or maybe Salvador Dali threw-up.
If it's that surreal then couldn't the light source come from just about anywhere he pleases?
I like it a lot but the first thing that hit me the instant I first looked at it, was the strong primary red. Looks like color right out of the tube.
I think I'd mute it a bit.
And the blue is definately too raw tube pigment blue.
Yeah, the red might play OK as it is if you do something with the too primary blue. |

I agree that it has lighting issues. This picture changed quite a bit as it evolved and at one point looked like this for quite a while:
I still need to set everything straight after removing the orange fro.
the red that you were talking about, was that his shirt, the blood/wine on the floor or both?
thanks, e. _________________ http://www.sleepforthedreaming.com |

It was the left edge where the reflected light hits it. It's also near the focus of the golden spiral so my eye fell there first.
But on second thought I said I think the raw blue was too much of a counterpoint for the red. The red would probably play ok as is, if the primary blue were changed.
When I was in art school I had an instructor who didn't like "literary" pieces, so most of my stuff wasn't like this. I never did many that told a story, so seeing your's is lots of fun to let my mind wander through. |

that's creepy! At first I thought that the big monster guy was holding the body, and that the body had no legs and blood was flowing from it. His (the human) legs look a bit strange.
edit: wow, you got some really cool tuff in your gallery! |
