Here is a cover for a new book called Blade of Kumori. It's coming out in november from Devil's Due Publishing. Pencils by Dub, colors by moi. This isn't out to the printer for a long while, so critiques and paintovers are more than welcome.

First off these are only my opinions, so take or leave them. I don't like critiqing someones work because they only truely know what they where after, and art is the artist interpretation of what he/she sees. But these are what I see...
1) The hair should be lighter towards the back if she is leaning against the bright lights of the sign.
2) I couldn't understand why I could see her thong when she appeared to be wearing a body suit. Then I realized she's not. Suggest some lightening of her stomach area to define it more. Not much, just a tad.
3) Her legs are not tight together, therefore I would think some of the light would be reflecting on her inner thigh of the right leg. Which it's not. |

Her left Breast (our right) is a bit small and high compared to the other one. |

Well, these are my newbie opinions..
It took me a while before I realized that she's leaning on the sign in the background, I think that her sheated swords make it look like there is a space between her and the sign, and the sword that's leaning on her shoulder could have some reflections in it from the shoulder, to make it look more like it gets support from it. |

Nice work!
the backround looks good, the character could use some correction; the torso looks stiff, the muscules dont stretch ( stomach , chest ).
I like the idea of a strong light source from the neon light, but i think it would look more natiral with a alternative light source from the right.
cheers! |

stomach area looks abit flat...maybe some atmospheric light reflecting off her right side would do the trick |

this is kinda picky....but she's wearing the swords upside-down....
the edge of a japanese sword is always facing up (the scabbard curves downward)
the swords in the drawings curve upward
its a common mistake that foreigners make....kinda like having the right lappel of the kimono over the right when it should be the other way around _________________ 赤竜 |

Thanks for the comments folks.
SekiRyuu: We found out about the sword mistake a bit too late. Future pages from this same project will be worked alright, though. _________________
