Hey guys n' gals
been quite a while since i've posted any work here... as this was the forum that got me into digital art way back about 4 years ago, i thought i'd post my newest piece of work. I've just finished the 2nd year of my computer animation course at Ravensbourne College, and have completed a short film during the last term. The timespan of this project was 10 weeks from concept to final edit. Made with Lightwave. hope you enjoy!
*thanks to newtek for hosting my movie file!!!!*
fixed link... oops.

I had to scrounge the main newtek site to find that, but after finding it, I thought that the animation was superb for a 10 week project. I haven't done much in that area but I found it quite amazing. The characters were cute.
I didnt really understand much of the concept, I however geussed there wasent much to it? |

Lovely. Great atmosphere, and great characters. The story is a little abstract but still manages to resolve very strongly.
If I have a critique, it's that movement of the halo boy isn't always that realistic. I know it's exagerated, but exagerated movement still needs some grounding in reality and he doesn't seem to react correctly with gravity. It's a subtle issue though and doesn't distract from the film. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

Great work, most impressive, I wish I had the talent and skill to create something like that. Halo boy kinda looks like the pillsbury dough boy with his eyes gouged, which I think makes him very endearing. |

Awesome mood, I totally dig the colours and feel of this!
The animations are good too, so the weakest part is the plot, but i guess it wasn't your focus on this one. |

character models and lighting look great. but the animation isn't really that great...i'd suggest for the future is that more facial expressions are a must for your primary character. I only ever saw his eyes blink, should have more blendshapes or better facial control, he also only smiled once...other than that the majority of your clip he just had this open bewildered expression. If your going to specialise in character animation i'd suggest more animation practice on weight dynamics on the human form. anyway it said that your only in 2nd year which is a great acheivement! i hope to see more of your work |
