Hi there guys,

Finally I have finished this picture and want to say, that doing matte is a great experience to me. This is my first attempt in painting that kind of stuff.
When I was starting the picture I haven't any idea which way to go and I started only with painting another mountain. I just have to say great thanks to dylan cole , cpt flush and biglebowsky for many useful advices about doing matte and some priceless directions or peaks of it just to help figure out which way would be the best.
All the stuff that isnt on the source picture is painted 100% from the skratch. As the right mountin was quite fun to paint, clouds were just horrible to figure out. I tried few ways and spent most time on it just to give a little realistic but non fairy tale look.
And finally the picture:

And the source file:

Great job, really nicely done. Any tips from your painting experience. I really want to do a matte painting.

Where do you live in Poland? I'm from Katowice.

Awesome work. Especially the clouds!!!
I just think that the persons of the original photo made it more interesting.
There's more depth and you can actually see how big the mountains are.
Anyway, since it's a mattepainting there's no need for mooving elements in the plate itself.
Keep it up!!!

Amazing.

Do you paint everything on a seperate layer above? (I've seen Dusso do this) Or is there more than one layer?

As the 3rd-stage Guild Navigator said... "You must... share... with us..."

Thank you guys.
The original res was 4000px wide, but the smallest brush I have used was 8-10px I think. Beacuse the source file width was a little bit small, I had to push up original picture and do a little cleanup there.

Hey Tiger!

Excellent work!! My only comment would be to take out one of the two "spires", or backwards checkmark rock formations, whatever you want to call them, heh. On the right there....it's just a little distracting to me. Just a suggestion to an otherwise excellent matte. Nice!
