ultrahsu I really admire your work! each and every piece is an inspiration!
-->
this is probably very much inspired by ultrahsu. I actually just tested a coloring method on a sloppy pencil drawing on canson drawing paper. I used gouache paints and colored pencils for the underlying coloring. As soon as I settled the basic mood, I went over it with oil paints. Unfortunately I did not prime the paper and so the oils didn't really work. It's still wet - I could not scan it, hence the bad image quality. |

going to start doing these sky studys every night, i really want to learn how to do realistic clouds. this one was almost an hours worth. but id like to spend more time on them and really design/detail them better. (photoref obviously)
Mullins, Any recommendations on what to look for while doing studys like this?
igino, freakin awesome. |

Thanks The Insame Lemur
That is probably the best speedpaint I have seen from you thus far.
Keep practice!
Real nice fluO!
pigbelly, Nice thought.
I don't really think to much about if what I do here is art or not.
As of now I paint to learn!
If I'm going to make art for a living sometime later in my life.
I'll make sure to do very appealing works...
Okey I need a lunch nap!

I'm really a happy guy. I just couldn't find the reference I wanted, so I had to take one of my own. I had originally planned to derivate a little bit, but it was going so well that I decided not to.

and how! that picture looks great, and this way you've probably been able to learn even more about what you need to work on in the future.
Doing concept art and production paintings, one of the most valuable things i've found is that the more you know about how the world works (visually and otherwise), the faster you can recreate it. It's so simple, but so valuable. More pictures like that one would be great to see!
Also, i think that anatomical drawing is freakin amazing. the line drawing of the hand is so fluid, and the colors chosen are bang on. _________________ matt - rhodes

> inferus; 72 dpi is screen resolution. 300 is great for printing but if you post 300 dpi images here they'll be huge if you don't shrink them first. _________________ > jsalvador.net |
