Pringle, u should add yourself to the list I really admire your work, really simple and no tricks. I wish I could do the stuff you do. keep up the good work.

Mikko K, I love your work, I wish you could post more often.

NeFF, I really like that one.

stephan, I agree with you, too many tricks.

spyroteknik, I like that one very nice feel to it, weird though cause u know if I feel bad about some work I do but then many guys seem to like it. And then when I like one of my paintings no-one else seem to like it, crazy.
But, all in all very good that one and a nice improvement, keep it up.

ultrahsu, very nice, creepy eye you got there.

R Frederickson, welcome and a nice batch u posted, hope u will post more.

dhood, nice design.

sparth, yea haha custome brushes is the tool of the devil, I love your latest works, feel a lot of progress in them.

Stewart one, yea very nice.

antx, try out with doing everything with one stroke, one stroke for the lower left leg and then one stroke for the upper leg and such. I know it is crazy difficult but if you force yourself u get used to it. I am trying myself to force me with this, still cannot do it though. paint over the one u have there and post the result and we will see what happens.

ok I can't comment everyone sorry. Thanks again for all the nice comments to me, I don't deserve it though cause I still am a rookie with this. Smile

one to keep the fire going, burn picture burn.

octavian - thanks for the sargent pics, the one of the old lady is especially good to see. Cassat is also one of my favorites. Everytime I see one of sargents originals it makes me wanna throw all my paints and brushes away, so hang in there. Its a lot about mileage, you know, just keep on doing it and enjoy the process. I dont' know what you edited out but pm me if you want.

stephan - nice landscape/ figures, quick and confident.

burnout - like that bat boy a lot.

dhood - treatment of the door and the wall is very nice.

sparth and pringle back to back, nice.

sparth - nice piece/style, especially his right arm

pringle - dope, not dull at all.

matthew - thanks, i love painting eyeballs. nice to see just brushstrokes from you.

here another lunchie...

creepy kid #6

Matthew: Your work has mutated! congrats
uiltrashu: thanks mate. I'm gonna just keep at it no matter how bad I feel sometimes. Sargent always inspires me to quit too. You take a look at his italy work and want to just die.

when you mix ketchup and mustard you get this crap:

Matthew, i agree with Stephan and octavian, your last pictures are by far your best.

Well, about the "textures", imho your copying a bit too much Mullins as we all do, more or less ^^, but while your started painting direct in here, its most obvious in yours.
And you know, Spooge is telling everybody his drawing-weakness ...

So i recommend you to do - and its because i took this good friend's advise some weeks ago too and i can say it helped me a lot yet - its time to go out here and study some other peoples art like especially comics or something showing strong drawing-skills i.e. Travis Charest or so.
- So you will be able to learn better whats important while you have to mix it in an "own" style, instead of too much imitating one single master.
And if you watch Mullins art, ask yourself questions like "why is he doing it this way" instead of "how can i do it as he does".

However, you'll go far. Smile

Matthew: That is indeed very hard. Most of my latest pics here started more or less with that intention. but I just cant get a shape right with just a few strokes. The result is always very bad, so I keep on refining the shape first before I go on. The problem is that without a good shape I dont see how to go on with the details then. However Ill try that anyway.

Heres some other technique: Painting over pencil sketch. Wink
