Matthew > wow, cool stuff!
Freebooter > Thanks for reply :) totally agree with that. Not painting eyes at all works as well. Btw I mean that to see better your art (and my own WCs) I usualy blur the sight :) After doing it to much I have to wear glasses. So I quess it's not so safe probably.

ax-hv: beautiful stuff. I love the colors in the third one. The red really comes out against all the green.
Here's my first try at both painter and speedpainting A little too scribbly for my taste: I think I ought to lay off the felt tips... I'll get better, though.
1 hr with reference

Dylancole--Saweet city, man. Not crazy about the guy, though. You another graduate of the academy of arts college? Those grads seem to pop up all over the place . . .
Matt-Like how parts of your skull are out of focus. Keep slogging away, buddy.
Behold my little red X . . a sign that you're too uncouth for my server . . j/k.

stephan, really dig all your work
nice to see you have a gallery up there ...
the only bad thing is i miss you on digitaldecoy
Mon, the trofe2 (the image with the elk, p.404) ist fantastic!
Matthew, really like your "New Frontier" but the "forgive me lord" looks fantastic ... more like a Mullins; the best i've seen from you so far!
Ghost harbour is really impressive too
M. C. Barrett, like your martian-speedies
Spooge, the ehbloodyhell looks best from you in my eyes the last pages ... until i saw your gunhead(stunning look). ;D
Vyle, the firybak_prop on p.409 looks great; very dynamic landforms, like that!
HardcorePixxx ... well, i thought this is no "scribbels"-thread ... but im glad you posted those great sketches around here, thx!
ax-hv, especially like your last two
Here are my last two speedies ... well, this thread make them look cheap. ;D
(first Artrage, second Photoshop)

Drew this while I was waiting to get fingerprinted yesterday. Forgot my sketchbook and I asked the lady for some scratch paper and borrowed a pencil. Took about an hour. It's pretty small and I put a dime in to indicate scale.
Here is what I did with it. I would have liked to have spent more time on it but I got time crunched.

matthew, I remember seeing someone complain that you were not following advice and not learning basic stuff and going off in your own direction to soon.
That could be, but who knows where it could lead. The rest of us will sit back and wait, since a)no skin off our teeth, b)you don't listen anyway.
Not that I am saying that is bad! That is what i am trying to say here. You/we have an opportunity to see where doing things differently takes you. There are others that try this but they lose interest so quickly that the experiment never is really completed. The one ingredient often missing is massive mileage, but you look like you are not about to quit. Cool!
You keep at it, churning them out, and you are making great progress. Send some of your better ones to Faustgfx:)
So in that spirit, here is an dangerously quick overpaint for you to ignore:) see, made an old empire portrait of him
Just kidding, you know, I think you do try to apply what people tell you, but the next butterfly comes along and you are off...

zhalimuto, I really like the kind of realism u retrieve in your speedy's, do you always work from reference?
smoggie, not bad at all.
Duracel, nice to see u back in the speedy I hope u will post more. I really like that train with artrage it shows that u gave the strokes more thinking and dynamics. Thanks again for the comments I appreciate your comments and for being honest with them.
Sheff, I like what u did with the coloring, out of focus stuff is something I like to experiment with too.
thekirill, very nice.
Mitsui, u are doing a fine job over at cgtalk, keep it up.
ax--hv, u know I love your work, I don't wanna keep rambling about it though. I totally love that car u made above.
allpetter, yea u see u are getting better and it seems u have found that thing that makes a picture interesting, something that confuses me sometimes and I am thinking about my own pictures. -"now, hmm, can I do this or what if I maybe add this and overpaint this" hehe, well yea painting can be confusing, keep it up.
zhuzhu, not bad at all, u are gettin very good at simplifying.
I can't give u all comment but I felt I had to give some guys comments, thanks again for all the nice comments u guys are giving me. Let us all keep painting forever.
have a nice day y'all

Spooge, this is pretty cool cause u know I was thinking about Faustgfx the other day and the idea of what would happen if we two were to meet on one of those CA workshops or something similar, hehe he would probably kill me.
U know I was afraid that u pro's were to give up on me and thinking that this guy is not listening anyway, I do listen, but I try to give things another touch with the feedback given to me kept in the back of my head.
That eye-socket thing took me forever but I finally understood it and so is with other things too, I think I can say I sometimes know more than what I can apply on the paper, not sure why this is really and I hope I am not doomed by that.
Spooge, your overpaint is just amazing and shows me that I really need to simplify more. I think I owe u like 20 car washes by now, hehe, but seriously I really appreciate your kind words and for the overpaint. U are a great guy Craig, thanks again.
have a nice day
