love your warrior's nose spooge! amazing. and the charcoal portrait looks lovely, and so does the fabric, colours and rest. axhv that head looks really solid , really nice job! Love your girls xia, and jokov I like your speech-bubbled artrage paint, stylish.
did this in painter classic in about 15 mins, with no reference, which is good for me. Decided to build on the painter block-in with photoshop. 2 hours later I had got nowhere after having made countless miserable attempts to do something more with her head. Now I feel like a duh : )

Holy moly, this page is out of control. amazing talent.
darn, , my photoshop cs trial ran out. I will miss it.
My photoshop 7 color picker is broken. when I use alt color pick it gets the color but puts it in the background box and I got to press x to switch it to forground color. I have searched all over the web and can't figure out how to make it normal again
Just trying out a new shading technique. I layed down 50% gray to get the main shape. Then I used a 80% prismacolor for the underside of the ship. A sharpie was used for the inking. I finished it up with a white prismacolor pencil and white acrylic paint. I worked backwards. I've done this on colored paper but never thought of doing it this way with markers.
once I scanned it into photoshop I added the orange stripes to the ship.
mediums used: prismacolor markers, sharpie markers, white prismacolor pencil, white acrylic paint, orange and yellow colored pencils for engine lighting
Date Created: June, 23, 2004
Time it took to create: 35 minutes

Gecko told me to use the hsb sliders, thanks to him, I can finally pick colors better than a 6-year-old. |
You wanna share fellow-Finn? I have real trouble with picking the colour, so far Ive worked like clicking the color on the toolbar and choosing it from the window (in PS). Slow, annoying and very inprecise. And I never seem to get what I am aiming for. Please ppl, tell me how you do it... And HSB-sliders??? Where? What? H?
Pic to post, a colorstudy for a pic Im working on. Painter.

Hiipi> Check the color tutorials by Ron Lemen (fredflickstone), you should find them by searching the forum or checking the link archive on top of the discussion thread. That's a good start.
In PS click Window ---> Color ---> small arrow to right ---> HSB sliders. That way you can choose hue, sat and value from separate sliders. It's way more efficient than going thru the toolbar where you have to "eye-pick" everything.
Did this to in order to babble (freebooter inspired vomit)

Something similar happened to me in PSCS a while back. You could try going to that colour/swatch/style panel, and click the colour tab. Choose the foreground colour from there, and you should start to colour pick back to it again. Hopefully that'll help. By the way, awesome works people. Sorry for not posting any of my own stuff, I thought I'd just try to be helpful for a change. Great work, everyone! |
