Just spent 7 and a half hours downloading the Global Operations BETA demo off the net and about 15 minutes playing it. It looks like a direct rip-off of Counterstrike, with some Ghost Recon-style boring-arse mission briefings put in at the start. Ever the server I joined to play it warned that the game was worthless.
Is the full version any better? |

I played the demo as well and I hated it, terrible feeling of not being connected to the ground, floaty. It was also impossible to understand if I was hitting what I was shooting at. Tooooo bad, counterstrike is still tops. |

Hmmm, I never encountered any...but then I didn't play all that much. I was interested in the fact that one of the maps takes place in Canada. Looks like game directors are taking advantge of our low currency. Anyone see the "Score"? That was Canada too. Didnt-cha-know? :P |

The Score wasn't very good. Wow, Edward Norton puts a gun on Deniro after he steals the Septre. Big twist. Oceans Eleven was way better. |

I liked the beta, the weapons models and sounds kicked ass, there were even animations showing the player's thumb switching the fire mode knob on the guns...
The walking was kinda wierd, but you got used to it, I liked it mostly becuase It felt like you were actually part of team, like in the underpass area, when your teammates would slowly sneak forward firing a few shots and then advancing...It really depends on the people you play with though, most of the time it's dumbases who just run around trying to shoot as many people as they can... |

Hey Higthfive, havn't been here for a while, just thought I'd reply to someone that I recognise, there's alot of new names here.
Im in an applied design course in Melbourne just so I can get into Electronic design next year, It's pretty annoying, doing classes like design principals and elements, Colour and OHS, but its necessary, I havn't touched Photoshop in a month, I hope I don't lose touch, was it you that has Medal of Honour 2, can you get it on playstation or just PC? I heard the start was like saving privet Rhyan, sound cool, have a good one SWANY. |

I just tried the demo.
Total CS ripoff--with fancier graphics and slower pace.
I liked their selection of guns, but I didn't get the sense I was hitting anything. I liked the reinsertion idea and the medic idea too.
No headshots. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. |

SWANY, I just completed Medal of Honour: Allied Assault today after playing it for two days straight. I am TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY at how involving, atmospheric and immersive the single player campaign was! People were crapping on at how much better MOHAA was over Castle Wolfenstein and I can see why now. That Normandy Beach Level just displays mastery in level design.
I shat my pants when the boat doors dropped and three squad-mates fell under the hail of bullets from 6 MG42s at the other end of the beach. Struggling for cover behind anti-armour obstacles while soldiers bark orders, cry out in terror or abruptly die had me wondering how the hell you're meant to the bunkers. I eventually figured it out and thought it was really clever how they designed the puzzle.
I watched Enemy at the Gates half-way through playing the game, which only boosted my eagerness to play the game some more. To my delight, the sniper level was where I was up to after that as well.
Rachel Weisse has a great butt, too.
Lunatique - roger that. No head-shots is probably a bad thing by now. I like being rewarded with a faster kill for precise aiming. Otherwise, how else is a guy with a pistol supposed to kill someone with a machine-gun. Running in circles doesn't work anymore. |
