Weekly Drawing - Week 24

logo made by: leander

The rules of weekly drawing:

*all mediums accepted
*concepts and speed sketches are allowed
*everyone is allowed to post how many times they want
*Weekly Drawing will only last for a week after which there will be a new topic

I will start a discussion thread over in the digital art discussion too so feel free to give me some pointers about this thread there and also, maybe we can come up with topics in there if you guys have any special ideas.

This weeks topic is - Battle-scenes

I have seen some battlescene pictures lately and I must say I was really inspired by that artrage battlescene by Sparth, good work there sparth.
This week we will do battlescenes and you are to choose freely from any episode of time that you want, future, western, medieval and yea further more.
hope you guys like. Smile

Matthew

sniff what happened to the sticky feature?

This one started out as an overpaint for a guy but I guess he didn't like it and also, the overpaint didn't really look like his piece either.
Maybe I should stop doing overpaints, not helping maybe.

(painted in this size)

Great one Matthew, very nice, lots of movement in that one.
Here's a sketchy old one.

many thanks guys. Smile

eigam, I like yours, I have always been inspired by the roman stuff and anything with Caesar.

a picture to show how to add textures, also posted in the CA but I thought I could bump this thread with this pic. Smile
I guess this guy lost his battle.

Matthew: That's very very very nice, as far as I know that's the best image I've seen from you. I can't see any of your common mistakes, actually I can't see any mistakes at all (not any worth mentioning anyhow)
the face looks natural, the pose looks natural

Will try to post something later this weeks, I'm painting far to little at the moment I'm afraid

Wow, I really like it too!! Shocked The only thing that seems a lil bit strange is that bright light on his knee: it seems like the source of light it more behind his back, so it couldn't shine like this, cuz it'd be more in the shadow... But for the rest: wow! Very Happy

ohh I didn't think that much of my picture above Embarassed
I thought it became a bit to dense but maybe that was a good thing then, one thing I know though is that it is very good to experiment. Small strokes hidden and dense may be the power behind good works.

Kagri, yea I exaggerated that knee way too much hehe.

thanks for your nice comments there guys. Smile
keep it up everyone

the guys over at ca and you guys are very kind, makes me scribble even when I am on a break. still need to think over my work process or maybe I shouldn't think too much all the time.

Matthew nice stuff, I like the last one allot. Tomasis nice speed paint. Here's a patroll looking for battle. Another older sketchy one, done from ref.
