I'm Back from Pennsylvania. It was amazing.
First I must say, Holy smokes you people are out of control. Way to good, way to good. It hurts my head to think of how hard you all must of worked to get where you are. Good stuff.
I spent 2 hours studying light and how it glows in the night at different distances. I learned some cool stuff while making this. Obviously the lights perspective on the buildings is off, but getting the perspective right was not my goal in this, so that's alright.

spooge, do you use many layers overlapped in ps? i feel your image is so rich, i start from a white paper and always find it too clean, lack of richness.
thank you for your answer

Hi all? Another try.
I think the colors need to be a bit more subtle on this one.
I still have to learn how to control that correctly, but here goes.
Chris-M, nice night citiscrape image, care to share with us what you have learned?

Nice work Mitsui .
koshime: cool style!
skullmonkeys: I learned how to create lights fast for background sections by using a brush and setting the spacing farther apart. I also added scatter to give a randomness to the background lights. Different lighting things I picked up also. You might want to check out my Custom brush tutorial if you don't know how to make a brush yet.

I spent almost the whole hour changing colors and trying to learn the colors that were really there. So that is why there is not much detail in this one. Still, it was good practice.
