Entertainment company is seeking to add a highly-talented, Anime-style, mecha designer to its art staff. The original flagship product is a roleplaying game, but the company is seeking to also produce a webcomic that will serve as the basis for a graphic novel. The setting is a Space Western with hard sci-fi elements set in an alternate future, something of a combination of "Mobile Suit Gundam" and "Cowboy Bebop".

The company is seeking candidates who can produce Gundam, Macross, Battletech, Patlabor-style humanoid mecha, and realistic (not stylized) combat equipment (e.g., tanks, helicopters, fighters, cars, guns, etc.) in traditional 2D pencil and ink drawings. Engineering and architecture backgrounds (particularly mechanical or aero/astro engineering) preferred.

Please submit a cover letter and a detailed summary of experience, salary history, salary requirements, and either sample art or a link to an online portfolio. As long as the work is excellent and timely, and the individual is easy to reach, this position does NOT require being in Los Angeles.

This is an offer for freelance Work-For-Hire. However, it is paid, the pay is Fair Market Value (based on experience and work rendered), and, depending on the quality and timeliness of work rendered, successful candidates may be able to expect regular Work-For-Hire.

Please email all replies to [email protected] and include Mecha Designer in the subject line.

Confused Question, location of work(if you're hunting a region specific group of artists), range of pay(if any), deadline for selecting applicants; when you're expecting to decide who's got a job, contact information, ie, phone number, fax number, standard mailing address, as well as the already mentioned email address and website.

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in Wild Sphere! As for your questions:

1) Unlike the other artist positions we are seeking to fill (e.g., character artists), the Mecha Designer position is NOT location specific. In other words, you can be in Tokyo, London, etc.

2) Range of pay really depends on what kind of 2D pencil and ink drawings the artist can produce. We're not looking for 3D models. If you fail to meet the minimum level of quality, you won't be hired. To state an upper range, if you can produce a Work-For-Hire like a Nu Gundam or a YF-21, the company wouldn't mind paying $300 or more.

3) There is no set deadline. The position is open until filled.

4) Interviews begin tomorrow.

5) Please submit application packages to the email in the above post.

Cheers
