Smile

Some completely random people pictures. More to come.

A little dash of HPX in the mix. It doesn't look much like Luke, though. Confused

I want your sex.

I think I introduced artrage back at page 200 something but no one taged along then, my pic then was a pirate ship.
Havent made much in that software since then cause it feels a bit sloppy but it can sometimes be good to limit yourself in painting.

artrage

later guys

I'm trying to get back into the loop again, here's a really quick concept painting of a character I am trying to develop....

His name is Doctor Flopson, his mother was a cat and his father a pig...

Smile

Great work in this thread as per always, Matthew, the energy of your last image is great, very impressive, reminds me slightly of Willem De Kooning and Frank Auerbach stuff. Two of my favourite artists...(although I haven't viewed any of their work for years!)

Sparth, I love the lushness of your fat brushstrokes in that last piece, so effective!

incredible how this thread goes on and on and on....
but i need crits.....plz help me on the fat head and the scape with balloons...the colors (and not only that) are so wrong...i have a crap monitor...should buy a new one with good black/white point.

Spooge : how do you achieve that underlying richness in your speedpaints ?
I mean, they have such a welth in texture and...ehmmm.."chaotic" detailing...high frequencies. What do you recommend for brushes in photoshop ?? Do you have any rules when to apply wich kind of brush ?
I tend to stay away from Color Dodge and Burn layers/brushes, since they tend to mislead my skills too much....they make me lazy. Then again, its easy to achieve eye-catching contrasts...The hell of mind-computer tradeoff.
And I hate painting simulation software. When I want paint, ill take my brushes and paint. When I want digital, I'll take my wacom and ps.

USE BIGGER BRUSHES. SIMPLIFY. CHECK OVERALL VALUES.

right ?

Tried ArtRage, since you're all doing it...

I wish the oil brush would ignore the thickness of underlying layers, and continue to leave those nicely textured, raw strokes. But I guess that goes against the program's mission.

Wassup, your beach painting is brilliant.

Cicinimo: Thanks! You can take down my images from your site, or if it's easier I'l just delete them myself. Nice paintings. I haven't tried art rage yet, but all this talk about it makes me curious to try it.

wasssup: AH! Very nice. You are such a big inspiration to me. Thanks!
