This is my first post at Sijun. The amazing talent here is overwhelming, and I hope to get (and give) some useful criticism. :)

This lineart's a pretty sure candidate for coloring. Any problems so far?

Thanks! :)

Depends on what you're looking for. What standard of shall we say beauty are you looking for? Cause according to the blueprint in my head:

- The arms are too big and/or misshapen, same with the hands
- The face needs a bit more work around the nose and mouth area
- The breast seem to be sitting a little too high and are kinda close together unless she's wearing a wonder bra
- The hips look like they're broken, and the ass can due with some more volume on what she's sitting on
- The thigh feels as if it's in the wrong position for the pose
- The calf is a bit big
- The foot looks odd (it's the toe spreading thing)
- The leg underneath the body ends at the thigh, with no indication of where the calf etc. is.

I like the picture though. Well done and well rendered. I would try and be more considerate about how the body is movie, where the points of stress are, and one part's relative position to another part. In this drawing, maybe during the sketching stage set up a bunch of triangle at different parts of the body, to figure out those relationships and how they would work on the body, and the positioning of the limbs.

In consideration I also would point out that the lack of background is a little hard too. She maybe reclining, but why is she reclining, what is she reclining on etc. If you don't put it in, why didn't you put it in, what does the absence say, etc. However, if it's just for fun, ignore this last paragraph.

Good work though, keep posting.

Wink

Thanks for the honest reply, faeklone. Yeah, I can understand all of your comments, although the size of the arms and legs may be just a style issue. I'm not sure if I want to keep going with this or not--if not, I would use it as a study for a more finished work. Thanks a lot. Smile

Although it's a little late to change anything with the lineart, here's the beginning of the coloring process. Any comments? I'm trying a new out-of-the-line technique. What does anyone think? Should I slowly move toward realism, or emphasize the color?

Looks great! Keep going in the abstract color direction, it definitely adds something that was missing

Looks great! Reminds me of the Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds sequence in the Beatles Yellow Submarine cartoon.

I love the sketchyness and the expressive mark making. It gives it alot of life!
