Max Kulich: love the wide angle! =) great atmosphere.

Ceenda: very nice.

Wassup: would be interesting to know how you think when/before u paint. Your values are dead on.

Math: yes it happends that i sharpen them. As Mathew said u can use it to get some textures out of it, and u can use it to focus on certain elements....or just make the overall doodle more sharp Wink. Whatever makes u happy.

Well i got some advice on light =) and started doing some light-studies. Here is one.

oh hot shit, times up I can go to bed now.

wassup those are really nice. everyone likes the values, but the drawing is spot on as well.

those WC's are WC's. Gave up on acrylics, just looks ugly, and I need all the help I can get.

this is not done, nor will it ever be phhht!

Tedsuo: Thanks mate! By the way, any ideas what happened to that contest??? It was a shame, I really wanted to see you take that forest cathedral concept further.

P-Rik, Marez, nUmb: Thanks guys. Smile

Deckard: Beautiful lighting.

Max: Awesome cityscape.

A four wheeled excuse to say hi. It's been too long.

Wassup: Always a pleasure!
Ceenda: Hell yeah! It reminds me of the Shadow of the beast covers, are they made by this Dean you mention?
Max: Nice job on that city thing.
Spooge: The Ghost in the shell-esque image a couple of pages back ,and this latest one really blew me away. Amazing. The katana-like sword bugs me though.

pringle, yep i was laying out color in gradient shapes untill it looked realistic as a thumbnail, then slapped the shapes/details on top. you probably work the same.

my artistic signature is incredibly dull color

mon, yummy greens in that landscape
max, nice changes
wasssup, i hate you Wink

yup, the g.i.t.s one got to me too, sorry Embarassed

spooge, i think it's the colour choices rather than value/drawing that attracts me to those types of images (same with your futurecars/sniper bunch), (although i really have stopped trying to understand value the way you do, it hurts my head, maybe in 10yr), something about the raw, realness you get when you go for the muted darker pallette (as far as i can remember, the ones eveyrone goes nuts over are the green/grey/brown dark images almost every time, not that it matters, you should paint what you feel anyway but it explains why i dig em Smile)

I got the reference picture from google, but now I lost it and don't know who the woman is. Most of my time was spent putting down a color then putting another color over top until I figured out what the color was. I had to be very loose and paint fast if I wanted to get the picture done in a hour. If I understood color better it would be a lot easier. Someday... someday. I figure after about 100 of these I will get a good understanding of color. haha .... I messed up her face big time. oh well.

1 hour.

later

There was some mention of Anders Zorn earlier, so I decided to check him out.
This is a reproduction of one of his pieces. About an hours work, lots of fun too.
