Ive been playing around with isometric views a bit .. this is what eventually came out. for the last hour or so Ive been playing around with adding details but I think it might be a good time to try and put some color on it (which Im fairly bad at).
Now what Im not sure about is how to crop it... when I started out I wanted to focus on the building itself, just jumble some shapes together, but now Im thinking that maybe the characters are far more interesting....
anyways, I tried adding some color, below is what I ended up with. The neon doesnt look all too bad I think, but the rest is pretty horrid. Im not really sure how to soften it up, how to integrate multiple light sources... any pointers would be most welcome.

in the colour, I'd say that it's not looking particularly isometric. I think because you've got like the sky/horizon in the background. Whereas of course in isometric there can never be any horizon or sky since you're always looking at the ground. Like warcraft or somthing. |

just get rid of the horizon and then fill the space surrounding it with clouds
circling around the mountain, i mean deeper in atmospheric perspective
as if its a helicopter shot looking down at the peak of a mountain
at the ongoings of the people nearby that market thing. and then you see
some clouds farther down and even farther down you could have a city or something surrounding the base of the mountain but really desaturated
in colour.
this is great, i do isometric works myself
i just wish you did a way better job on painting
it, instead of that tripped out purple deal...maybe just render it with
blues and greens and browns. like a market ala Warcraft 3 or something. |

Why'd you cut the Yellow Submarine from the image? It was perfect! |
