I'm having difficulty with the composition of a personal painting

The scene depicts a group of travellers in rural Europe crossing through a set of crossroads and Ruins

Some styling and compositional help would be appreciated

compositionally
always put a foreground element that is coming off of the scene

so it could be a piece of a rock face or something, on the right side of the widescreen panel. Then you have alot of key design elements that are
sort of leaning towards, or in some ways *not obviously* but pointing
directly in the background near the horizon at the "PAY OFF" of the image

the point of the image...the focal point.

have a city on fire, or have something happening to tell a bit of a story
about what exactly is going on. Either that or you could just have a nice
looking rendered landscape with mountains and stuff.

keep it up

also look at comic books or books on concept art for movies
to get a better idea of how to make an interesting shot.
