now this is how it should be, quick and easy and no changes.
This one was made in 13 minutes and the pose was from memory the other stuff was made up.
Perhaps the whole stage should be planned in the brain before the canvas is touched.
back to experimenting.
keep it up everyone

Matthew: Experimenting is good, and fast is good, I learn a lot from that.
Here is another one, following Matthew's philosophy.
20min, ArtRage and Photoshop.

dougbot, you're awesome. I can still see in my mind that one with a little guy at a railing in the foreground and the enormous doug-monster, really cool man.
and from me,
both tacky and cheesy. i had something more sophisticated in mind.
(p.s. I got into both art colleges I applied for! I'm going of to Bristol for a year! )

M.C.Barrett - u headed to Art Center? where are u now? great tower sketches. |
Should I be? I'm at the University of North Texas now, had originally planned to go for their outstanding Communication Design program, but have since changed over to their merely pretty-good drawing and painting program. I plan to finish out my BFA here, since I'd like to be able to stick to at least one place longer than a year or two. What I'll do fter that is still very much up in the air. I'll definitely pursue a graduate program, and if I end up leaning more toward industrial design, I just may end up there.
art to post, uhh... I guess this recent ballpoint/oC concept doodle will do...

matthew > how come your only use brushes with size dynamics, but never with other (pressure) dynamics, such as opacity and flow? just curious.

UnAlternate, thing is I couldnt find that brush setting but when u asked me here I got eager to find it and so I did.
So this pic is for you UnAlternate with opacity set to pen pressure, thanks again for asking.
I can see that this kind of brush setting is effectful, easier to simplify too.

Mons: Lovely bold brushtrokes and concentrated areas of detail. I always have a problem "blocking in the detail", if you get what I mean. I get the main shapes okay, but when I go to detail, the details starts to look detached from the painting. Sprafff Sprafff... back to painting for me. |

Ok, this is the third time this has happened to me. I'm starting to suspect people are in cahouts on this. Might have to meet up for lunch or something.
Just to rule out another eerily-precise coincidence like the last one, would you happen to be taking beginning figure drawing, art history survey II, or design II this semester?
Art to post, um... here's some crap.
