[Hyptosis]

Let me first start this off by saying I'm sorry I've been so busy and havn't had time to update. But I think this will be a decent post, and at least some people out there will enjoy it.

I know a lot of places hate multiple image posts, and I'm not displaying a portfolio here. This is all for one project.

I've been very busy working as an illustrator, but on my days off, I've been working on a personal project. The following will be the concept art for many of the character in my project. Also, I'll include a page that shows progressive images of the characters, as well as early concepts. I don't want to divulge too much about the project this early, but it takes place in space, like so many tv shows, games and comics do. But who wants text, on with the images.

Many of you will have already seen this character. After posting, many seemed confused about the hair, and many gave me great feedback.


I did this piece to study the hair, and give a better idea of how the hair works. While the image isn't great, It does what it needs to, as concept art should. I think the hair makes much more sense here.


This robot is called Poet, he is a translator, a scribe, and just the most intelligent/philosophical character. His design were originaly desined to do household chores, and act as butlers to the wealthy. But they have been used for far more as he is.


This character is the main pilot of an important ship. He is meant to be a pretty nice guy, but likes to try to put off a tough guy image.


Hul is part of a war-like race that chart the stars. While they are very war-like, they also listen to reason, and often try to make peace with those they meet. They 'walk silently and carry a large stick' if you will.


Pretty much the most inventive character, he is also a briliant engineer and pilot. While his race is much smaller than many others, they are also far more intelligent and make up for the size in top class designs and huge machinery.


Possibly one of the most complicating characters, she was engineered from scratch dna created by scientists. There isn't much more to tell at this point, but she will be a most excellent character to develope I think.



Mydrial has been a really fun character to develope. He will also be a really fun character to work with and I hope to post more info about him soon.

Last, a little chart to give you guys an idea of how tall the characters are. The human is about 6 foot tall.


As for feedback, let me have it guys. I know there are a few anatomical problem, but I'm more interested inwhat you think about how the character look and if you think they'll feel 'real' at all. And if they interest you, etc. These studies where done for design more so than anything else. Thanks so much for the time.

Over all very nice stuff. The bounty hunter is definitely my favorite. The pilot and the dna chick work for me too. As critique, some of the characters look very stiff and lack the rich details you have in the bounty hunter for an example. There are also some really weird proportions of the body parts. Some is understandable for cartoon style, but some add to the stiffness, imho.
