Hi long time no see...I've been lurking though.
Anyway I thought I could share some concept art I've done for various clients and projects.

These for a commersial, I worked 1 day on this project, just development, not finalizing.

THese are some quick game look ideas for a project we are working on. I think I used about 40 min on each of these, so they are quick and dirty. Fun to draw dinosaurs though, never done it before...I didn't follow any of the dino's in minor detail, so dino lovers will ofc. see flaws with them.

Two quick concepts for selling in aan idea for a commersial . Based on two characters that allready in some german chips company I think, dunno - I just did my job Smile. Anyway, quick ones as well, I did the surfer while brushing my teeths Smile

concept art for another commersial. I worked 3 days on this one, but I'm not allowed to show any final or close to final character, as the company have the rights and don't want to publish it. But, here are some early development.

expressions

different ideas and proportions

first concepts

quick scenery concepts, about 15-20 min of work on each...this wasn't really a part of the job, so these were made without focus of descriptions or further development.

just a couple of situational sketches

I hope you like...

Inspirational...nuff said.

I notice most of your stuff as of late has been a bounce back and forth from your cartoon style (which I see you're very comfortable with) and your digital painting stuff.

What would you say is your favorite style to work in and financially, what keeps a roof over your head?

Beautiful as always, REE.

Hey Joachim, these are great. Refridgerator guy is my favourite. He reminds me of a friend.

They're very expressive, and the variety of styles is impressive.

You're awesome. Probably my favourite digital artist, period. I love the playful look most of your stuff has, and your character concepts are awe-inspiring.

telling you again how I like these character designs. the "first concept" page is rally great.
I would love to see you go nuts on the dinosaurs and push them a bit further, more claws and teeths, etc. It's probably the Calvin (and Hobbes) in me, i guess

These reek of style. Really great colors, there's something very appealing in the way you color.

Cool stuff as usual Joachim. Very nice to see so much of your work.

My Favs are the Pom-Br and Master Croc(I think thats his name) pics, they have a certain flair to them which is very nice.

The toot-cleaner guy reminds me of some old comic-like-commerials I had in comic books as kid. Like Anti-Plax or so, not sure what its name was and stuff, but they had those tanks on their back too and sprayed the evil bacteria and stuff.

Hey Guys, sorry for late reply, but when so many replies I need to find the time to give proper replies. Uhm, ok here goes.

wagner: thank you.

reakshun: thank you for liking them. ABout your question. favorite style, well, I can honestly say that I feel I'm more comfortable with linework or cartoon like characters...or plain backgrounds, I feel that I can easily play when I'm doing this. But, favorite style I don't know, I tend to lean to what I struggle the most with, because then I have more fun and challenge, and I like challenge. So, painted motifs with characters interacting with eachother and background is fun and something I easily fuck up when I don't put enough time and thought into. Financially, well I get jobs from every corner, I do think that financially you have a bigger chance to get more jobs when you show the ability to change and addapt...earlier times people used to be more specialized in one style but I feel the market is changing, atleast working in the commersial business you need to be able to deliver the style they'd like not what you prefer doing yourselves. Therefor I have a lot of work that I personally don't feel can be represented as "my style" or what I like to do, and I hate a lot of what I've done, but it's important I think to do all these type of jobs to evolve and make the customer happy....forget pride Smile Moneywise I've gone more into taking money per hour or days, so most works pays the same, based on time. Long and confusing answer I guess, but I tried my best Wink

xia: thank you. Btw, great speed paintings you've posted. I haven't been very active in that thread lately, so I haven't posted any comments, so I thought I'd tell you here Smile

matthew: thanks you matthew ! Btw, I've really enjoyed watching you'r evolvement lately. You are improving rapidly - seems like you pay attention to many different things, such as linework, perspective colors etc, which is great, don't hide behind one thing but do everything to improve in general as an artists...that's my philosophy as well Wink

summer pudding: THanks ! I like him as well, hehe, he's got an attitude I like, hehe. THough he would never work for an company. Btw, nice work you've posted here lately.

Mon: thanks ! Btw, I've truly enjoyed your speed paintings and your tutorial. You are really getting a personal style with excellent use of colors and contrasts. You have a use of shadows that reminds me of tv - movies ...dunno if that makes sense, but the way you hide things is shadows which makes your work very interessting.

kimchi: Thanks a lot. That's a huge compliment and it warms my heart Smile Whenever I have a bad day, I will think of you, hehe....

DARYL: thanks a bunch monsieur.

Duracel: Hey Duracel, thank you so much. You are always nice to me, I'm glad you like my stuff.

soulworks: thank you !

beat: Mon ami ! Yeah I'd like to go nuts on them as well Smile But, I infact what is most wrong with these are that I went too nuts, because in the game, they are suppose to look uber realistic, to give every dinosaur lover a game that makes their dream come true. Fucking with that, would just make nerd go mad Smile

jonathan Wahlstedt: Thanks man !

capt. fred: thanks for liking it !

-gux-: thanks man, and a very nice compliment.

fae: THanks. Hey you can, just speed up the arm or dring dr.pepper Wink

phatxta:Thanks man. I'm Glad for you (and me ) that you don't have boobies...hehe.

glitterbug: thanks mister. Nice to know the names of those characters as well, I didn't know Smile

cok3: thanks a bunch !

rinaldo: Thanks rinaldo. Long time no talk. Love the stuff you've posted lately, your linework is breathtaking. How's your carreer going ?

tsunami: THanks a lot !

phew, that's all I guess Smile Thanks again to everyone !
