Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a downloadable copy of Andrew Loomis' "Eye of the Painter" book. I know about his other 5 books (Figure Drawing for all its worth, Heads and Hands, Successful Drawing, Fun with a Pencil and Creative Illustraiton) but I am after this one. _________________ See ya on da flip side

Can't help you on Eye of the Painter. I have 4 of the 5 you mentioned, all but Head and Hands. Do you know where I can find that one? I'll start looking for "Painter" and let you know... _________________ Don Flaws

I know some of them used to be available in pdf, are they around anymore? I only have fun with a pencil and the figure drawing one. |

Yeah I have the 5 ones already mentioned. Most of them are at fineart.sk in some form or other. It is just the "Eye of the Painter" one that I'm after. I think I've managed to find it in an obscure library but need to try to get it on an inter library loan or something.
If I do get a hold of it and there is enough interest, I might make up a digital copy. Anyone interested?! _________________ See ya on da flip side

sure if there aren't any large legal issues, I assume the copyright is up as the other ones have been posted before. |

Seems like the guy who posted the files up from his host is a bit stressed by the bandwidth consumption. Since I don't have things like bandwidth limits I'll be plugging a link where folks can get a copy of the file from MY webhost.
http://www.ecau.net/downloads/Andrew_Loomis_-_Eye_Of_The_Painter_2.pdf
It will be available for download from 2:30pm EST and then on until the file is spread across the world like a virus. Or a nasty rash, I'll settle for a rash type spreading, if anything.
And so my webhost, read: friend, feels a little special, if you want a quality webhost, try out Reality Check Network for professional webhosting. _________________ [:: Digital Marmalade! ::]

I was pleasantly surprised by the book. I thought seeing that it was rare and hard to come by was because it wasn't as good as his other publications. Quite the opposite, seems to say quite concisely what my drawing and painting teachers have been saying in very vague terms over the last year. _________________ See ya on da flip side
