Hey,
I'm kinda new to the forum. I've been in here plenty of times gawking in awe at the artwork. I would really like to post some of my artwork, unfortunatly I can't find a place that I can get enough web space at plus I can't make a page w/o a wizard to tutorial, haven't taken classes or the time to learn code or anything. Does anyone know a place that offers a good amount of free web space? Know any wizard programs I can buy/download? Also how do I get sponsers to pay for extra space? |

If you are new to web designing (which I assumed since you don't even know HTML), I would recommend you try a freeserver (Tripod or Geocities) first. Sure they put advertising on your site, but ad-free hosting is expensive, and if it's free, it probably will tank in a few months or the server is really unreliable. If you can find someone to host you (like cheney), that would be great.
Free servers (such as Tripod, Geocities, Angelfire) usually prohibit you from direct linking images. You can override this by either changing the image extention (from jpg or gif to txt) or adding a ? with the URL... if you wish to post your artwork, for example, on this or any other forums.
Be wary of deals that are "too good to be true" because it usually is. Also be wary of claims of "unlimited space" or "unlimited bandwidth" - this never comes without costing you an arm and a leg.
About how much space do you need? |

I found a place called 150m.com that seems to be working. I'm not looking for too much space, a little something I can get my pics on and have some other content. |

Multimania is a good, free host. 100-150mb storage, Php support, MySQL, external hotlinking... you'll need to have a grasp on French to be able to navigate the site, though. Otherwise Netfirms as Saiger said, Digital Brain and Fortune City all provide free hosting. I'm not sure of the specifics of those, though. |

I use Digital Space for my hosting, although it's not free, it's very very cheap. 10MB of storage, 2 additional FTP accounts, 2 sub-domains, PERL support for $3 a month. The best thing about this is that you can split the fee with two other friends, so you actually pay only $12 a year for hosting. That's pretty incredible.
I used to host my site on Multimania, although they support image hotlinking, they are really slow. About 2 weeks ago, the server went down and it kept on going for about 3 days. And because of the site is in French, most of my visitors thought my site was dead. Since that day, I realized that nothing is for free, so I'd rather pay some money for some better hosting. |

I've gotten the hang of the 150m.com, it's working rather well, and I'm starting to make progress on my site.
If you'd like to visit: www.popplebugs.150m.com
e-mail or guestbook, lemme know what you think
Thanks for all the help |
