My first photoshop character tell me what you think-

its odd that you used photoshop, but didn't use any of the things that photoshop does well, like subtle transparent airbrushing, layering, making cool textures... start messin with that kind of stuff because thats where photoshop really shines. Not bad though, his body could use some more structure, maybe some photo reference would help. |

I used layers a bit they are great, I dont know anything about the brushes really, I just used a round brush from the drop shadow brush box at different sizes, do you know where I can get some beginners tutorials for making textures and brushes and that kinda stuff? |

mostly you can learn stuff just by playing around an experimenting with all the stuff. Any bookstore will also have big thick books full of tutorials and such. Heres a website that also has some good tutorials on illustration techniques with photoshop:

He is supposed to look tough, but his expression on his face makes me want to be his friend. Work on the blood splatters also. Oh and his left arm... whimp! Maybe use darker colors to get more of a creepy feeling, and maybe make an angle looking up to him to represent power... |
