Thanks for cheering me up about the vehicle pile up on the last page. This one is not much better. It takes so much energy to change habits, and means going nowhere or backward for a while

Haven't been able to contribute in a while, or rather, "this thread moves too damn quick".

Just wanted to say how much I fell in love with spooge's costume_beach girl, feet and shadow and all. The halo guy is amazing, with the beautifully convincing morning light/shadow on the gun, and the beaker guy is also very cool, but the beach girl is just lovely. how quiet and breezey-cool the scene is. spooge, is it just me or are your colours getting more and more amazing every image?

Another favourite is your referenced woman ax-hv. Like the light and colour on her cheek. And the lapels and neck off the bottom.

Barret, amazing designs, and Matthew that looks one skilful study.

Looking forward to finding time to do even a speedpic. Got interviews for Art foundation/college courses tomorrow and day after! Wish me luck Embarassed

There is so much kickass stuff in this thread, its pretty misleading to just call them speedpaintings.

Hmmm. I seem to be averaging 1 post every couple of months. At this rate I should be a regular poster in 5-6 years Smile

Can't say enough good things about the art and artists on this thread.

Hey everyone! This is my first post, so I'll post my first speed painting. I've been looking at this site for a few weeks and have found this thread VERY inspiring. The line of work I'm in usually demands a tight drawing or illustration, but I've always wanted to be more expressive. These are my first speed paintings and it shows. I look at them and for me, it is the most painterly I've ever been, but I realize it's still pretty tight. They were done in Photoshop 7 in about 40 minutes each. I spent more time on them than I really wanted to. I've got to work through that conditioned feeling that I must get detailed with everything. Hope you like these! This is also the first time I've posted art on a forum so I don't know if I got the tags right.
