Keep on rockking beat, burnout, kratul, spooge, xia and all the others.
Did some figure drawing last week, hadn't done it in a fairly long time and it didn't go to well but I was happy to think that some of the stuff learnt by drawing other stuff had an effect on the way I drew this time.

" already spent time drawing people when i sit in the train, bus or in the cafe etc. but for some reason these experiences don't effect my from-head-pictures "
I'm no teacher and not exact with my english, but I read once something like" you can't draw what you haven't seen" . if your drawings smell of loomis, that means you know more his books than your subjects ( or your own idea of it ) ... guess this is what you can improve - your vision, your understanding. it does take time. Spooge already said it all here, browse through his posts. 50% looking at it, 50% drawing = same thing I said.
carrying on my famous serie, "cheapos WC on sample papers"
I'm posting that one as a joke, during the pause, we are sometimes taking the aperitif.. Quickly sketched the model relaxing with a glass of cider - i was drinking too btw. I'm curious, have you ever seen that in your classes ?
I was carefull on the proportions, It's not the cider, my eyes were seeing these amazing proportions. forget about the inflating head.
less than a minute, last stretch.

thanks for your opinion about my problem, beat- seems that i have to erase loomisbooks out of my mind and take lifedrawing classes until i die or so...
by the way:

a lifedrawing-class with champagne-sex-party afterwards? who was the model? this million-dollar-girl from the american boulevardpress? i am sure that was fun, eh heh. _________________ known as "ChrisNix" elsewhere. |

session no.4 too bad the model doesn't pose longer than 10 or 15 min.
model was too late, so the course-organising student did a pose for us. i think the face really looks like him.
had the lines from life, the shading i invented completly when i got home. have to do that more often, i think i could learn quite much that way. _________________ known as "ChrisNix" elsewhere. |

great work everybody.
beat, love the line work, its really strong ..i wish I can be that bold., and I've never been to a life drawing session where they drink wine in between breaks.
some of these images were done with my left hand, I guess I was bored of the long poses, so I tried holding my pencil differently.....I don't know if this has any practical application to my learning, but I gave it a shot.
answers to which ones were left handed ones on my site..... _________________ kenchan

This is a portrait of my friend Jonas, I made this looking in a mirror so he could see the screen at the same time as he was modelling.
Partly so he wouldn't get bored, but also for him to be able to study the process..
(..and tell me if he noticed any flaws, him knowing his own face better than I do.)
