great work, but you know as Capt.Flusgarden said: "rest of ou thanx for keeping this thread alive, but remember, there has to be propeeeeelllers on them"
So, Randis, Amoe, RedDog, nice, but this is not a "flight"-Thread, and so you can sketch your ventilator standing on your desk in hot days or one that rotate in vent pipes or something, but jets or something aren't propellers. (actual its a quite simple system. ) _________________ Lars Gtze

This is an "art" thread - they should be visible. ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ Lars Gtze

Maybe there should be different aircraft threads. Jets or VTOL or...? |

Another simple systeam is called glasses.
As you might see on my image if you open your eyes is that the ships have huge propellars on the back.... there are no jet's, and no smoke and no glow and nothing else.
I know, i know,

Haha!
actually Duracel is right about the propeller thing, the thread was started with the thought of having a visible propeller on the object, of course a jet engine contains like a dussin propellers inside of it and I dunno if im right cause english isnt my first language, but a propeller is somethign that propells an object in a direction, could be anythign right? but anyway, the thought was to have the classic blade prop or spiral prop to keep stuff a bit funky style. and a couple of weeks later a jet thread was created but I dunno where it is now, but that thread would be perfect to place jet planes in! |

I guess you would call this a retro/fantasy air race. It's a bit overworked, but I had alot of fun with it.
MARK- All I got to say is....Damn, I wish I could draw like that.
SUMMER PUDDING- Very cool!

amoe, Mark Harris and Spunkmeyer thanks. It's an honour posting with the digital Biggles' of Sijun.
Elliot: yum yum
Randis: nice lighting on that last one
I know this crate has all the aerodynamic sophistication of a pregnant walrus, but what the hell, it was fun to paint.
PS: I'm considering swallowing my pride, and buying a couple of Ryan Church's DVDs. Are they any good? I have no real, formal art education beyond high school, and wonder if they are an adequate substitute for a BA.
cheers

This is more 'design' than 'art'. The idea is a super low-drag wing with uninterupted airflow-no wing tip vortex drag. The tail surfaces would flex the wing for roll control. The 'cockpit' would hang below like an airliner jet engine and could be interchangable-1 seat, 2 seats etc. I built a quick and dirty model, and it does fly! Any input would be fun.
Puddin'- Any education is helpful. Some artists need lots of school, some don't need any. Am I right here? Anyone else?
