this thread is moving even quicker than usual. must be spring break.
HXP, I hadn't heard of that guy until after I chose my name. I'll have to find his stuff. the web forums are funny in that they make it seem like theres more work out there than there is, I guess. when I first found mr. goodbrush's work (and his army of fans) I sent him an email asking if he thought there was work out there for all photoshoppers. I'm still trying to figure it out. I think I've been lucky in finding work. but I feel like it's been a fluke and now I'll have to get good or die.
btw, mr. mullins, I've found a book that I thought you would enjoy. why? I dont know. I think you are someone who thinks alot about quality of life. it's called "a pattern language" maybe you know of it already. it's not about art per se, it's about architecture and how humans relate to it and how to make our enviorments better for us. I'm telling all my friends about it.
from a still from RAN.

I was doodling and some chance brushstrokes made me see trees or a valley. I wanted to find out which, so I kept on painting...
All photoshop. 1 & 1/2 hours.
I would have liked to add some sort of focal point like an airship and finish parts off a bit more. Next time.

Omi-kun: thanks. That's exactly the advice I am looking for. And actually that's the way I do it. I just don't feel that I learn too much from it. hmm... I guess I'll just have to stick to it and some fine day something will unfold in my brain =]

Glad to help stephan,
I spent too much time on this one, maybe 30 minutes? fudged the colors so much it's not even clean, and still no more realistic than when I started fudging. What would spooge say to this?

ZhuZhu I like your art best of all.
Do you draw from life, or photos, or imagination? Combo?
If from photos, do you trace your stuff or eye-ball it?
Your art just stands out as incredibly precise for some reason.
Great work, even if it is traced. *Bows Down* |

Is Villpu good? Does his drawing manual have much to offer that bridgman etc dont? I'm studying my books and going to a sesion once a week but still I feel stuck with anatomy.

MeatyOrge>> Villpu is awesome u should get it...his gestures are one of the best I've seen. Loomis (U can't buy it nowadays, but it avaliable to download over the internet for free on some sites.) is another Anatomy Bible. And Bridgeman of course. These three masters are somewhat different, but if u really want to be great...learn everything from all of them. Good choices.
BotBot>> Love Samurai
Spooge>> Awesome! I will do that..I believe I have two of the movie...but I still want more DVD from U. More recipe for Sausage....
Where is Swarm and Wassup?
Great work guys...
and thanks
Might as well:
