Should have been a speedy, but it took too long. About 2 hours. I based it on a funny looking UAV I just saw on the tube called the "goldeneye 100". Sucked the colors from a neat photo I found of it hovering at dusk, and began extemporizing
Cheers

hey, I like it!
The slightly offset design is believable and interesting.
I think you have put too many decals on it though. They cancel eachother out, degrading their prencence. 1, 2 or 3 would have been great. Then it would look military and the decals would be instructions and markings. Perhaps this is a sponsored hoverthingie? Did the researchers get funding?

I'm a sucker for cool vehicle/mech design, and this one hit all the right buttons. Having said that, I'm also partially in agreement with Sukhoi. It's not the ammount of decals, but their scale that doesn't look quite right to me. The top two I see as air recognition markings or some device to distinguish it from enemy craft, and as such should be bold and big. The others I've interpreted as instructions for ground crew. These, in my view would be more discreet.
Also, I think the ground and dust cloud could do with a bit more detail.
Minor points I guess.
Post more!
PS: are you the guy who painted a man with a bird of prey on his arm recently in the speed painting thread? If so, top marks to you again.

Hey YV, I really like your design, cool redering too. Though, I have to agree with what Sukhoi mentioned above about the tiny decals, and the composition bothers me a lil bit, can't exactly tell why...maybe a wider lens to make it look more dynamic?
Anyways, great work there, your understanding of values and lighting is incredible. |
