hey, i think i might leave the fins as lineart for a nice effect but its tempting to fill them in with shade for the moment. this is something to go with me art stuff for my A-levels. comments crits etc all welcome, i'll try not to start large debates .

it looks weird without seeing the edge of the turtles belly...
it also seems to be missing it's back legs.
the shell looks like it's on funny too. |

ok i scanned in the little picture from the book i was using. i think i misjudged the size of the shell and a little bit of the lighting on it in comparison to the rest but i'm not sure.
yeah i definitely think i did the shell small.... |

i'd stick with photographs, it looks like the person who did the illustration didn't use a reference.
it's like saving a .jpg and everytime you save it with a slightly higher compression, and after not too many re-saves it will have a messed up quality... i'm not too great with analogies... |

yeah i know what you mean. like chinese whisper, where the message is completely wrong by the end of it! so asides from a flawed source image, anything to crit on that i myself have done? |
