Hi, I'm new to this forum. Good job everyone on this thread
Well, this is actually how I imagined the moria goblins, first time i read "Bilbo". In the swedish version of Lotr, there are no moria goblins in moria when the fellowship travls through it, but uruks from mordor. Though I dunno if the Swedish version is right..

Inspiring thread, everyone has really great look!
Here is my golum based more on the books. I seen Golum as a sick psychopathic killer, no sympathy from me, here he is on the hunt.

Awesome V shane! Thats probably pretty much how I pictured him when I first read the Hobbit all those years ago. Not someone you'd ever see as tragic or anything. But I guess after reading LotR soon afterwards I couldn't help but see him as more sad somehow.
I've posted this a year or two ago but it seems appropriate here now.

ok, i'll rewrite it:
hey, this looks very good, but this very good copy combined with a rough scan makes it hard to believe its really handdrawn.
And well, still if it is really done by yourself, its look like every other unsharp jpeg in the net - wow. _________________ Lars Gtze

In Dreamcatcher's defense, I just looked at the photo reference which would have been used for this picture, and there are quite a few differences between the sketch and the photo. variances in shadow positions/shapes etc. |

Jesus christ Duracel, there's no need to be that rude. It's not a photomanip, if that's what you're thinking. There are plenty of differences from the original. It's a pencil copy from a frame in the movie and there are plenty of those in this thread already. If you think making copies of stillframes is pointless and boring, fine, I agree with you. I just don't think you need to be that rude |

It's expected from an experienced professional artist to do a photo realistic portrai in at least 5 hours. (And note that we might still catch some pen stokes or indications that it's a pencil artwork) 3 hours is the minimum time you need just to fill a whole page with values. We are not talking about a perfect shape yet...
I would ask for more artworks b4 final judgement, but...

Duracel is lucky not to have been flamed by the sijun mafia, I guess they only do that to amateurs. At least dreamcatcher didn't start another new thread with years old artwork in the hope of garnering ego stroking comments. |

Dear Duracel,
You, like everyone else here, are a guest on Dhabih's Forum.
As a guest, you do not have the right to insult someone else here
just because you are feeling trigger happy.
If you can proove that this work is fake please do so, but state it
in a way that is appropriate to a civilized human being of decent manners.
Thank you. |

Hi Dreamcatcher! alias Mike I am really suprised to see you here!!
Alright guys, especially Duracel: believe me, it's not a fake.
He's a friend of mine and I saw this picture on his wall in his room.
And he actually IS pretty fast in this technique.
I know you don't like high realism copies Duracel *remembers my own digital copy of this pic*
You can tell people your opinion in a more,..well "kind" way, alright. Thanks.
no offens, really. I respect you and your work Dura, believe me.
No Lord of the Rings related pic Mike, wokin on it |
