So here are my findings at this point, in regards to the Pagoda Guy. He still needs some eyes, and because of a technical difficulty, I'm going to have to manually replace each tree in order to get the color shifting thats neccessary, so that will take a little bit. One thing to keep in mind, is that this guy has been sleeping for thousands of years, and in that time it just so happened that they built a city on different portions of his body and hat. He's basicly like a dogg of the planet; his main objective is really just to get up and find new places to curl up and sleep (like my dog did (r.i.p.)). People may try to read meaning into the arising of this guy, like I've heard some foolishness such as, "he is a sign from the Gaian mind that humans need to take warning for what their doing to ecosystems, and rainforests, ect." All that is bullshit, he has no such motivation, neither does the godess whom supposedly sent him. I did attempt to attach the song that he sings, but the file is too large, so perhaps some other time.

I also must mention, that young Popeye (aka MacV) contributed to this effort with these concept sketches. These were instrumental in the discovery of this oversized quadrapedal human with a tail.

this is great work MacJ.
I'm really looking forward to see your "finished"version of it.
only crit is that i I feel like the head is a bit separated from the neck right now, I guess you just haven't put yet the transitional elements to unify it all. _________________ ---

Very cool. Can't wait to see it in an environment, with real lighting. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

very nice. you are probably going to do that anyway but I would like an asymmetrical texture better. and more moss at the bottom. great job both of you.. _________________ I wanna be a pirate! |

This is magnificent!! Awesome concept!
At first I thought it was a real sculpture.
I only have one crit: His face is too symetrical. (model and texture)
Idea: Maybe make the city more smaller scale so that it looks like millions of people live in it. Right now it feels like maybe 50 people live there. |
