Some Germans around here may know him, Max, an upcoming german musician who's casted by StefanRaab(TVTotal) to take part in the german-preselection for the european song contest.(so there's a good chance all europeans will see him in a while Wink)

Well, his (imho)phenomenal voice inspired me to paint this caricature.

It's my first caricature except a self-caricature i did some time ago.
So well, the different references i had weren't always as good. 3 low-res videos and some medium-res Pictures from a website.
- You can see some of them further down.

It's painted in Photoshop7 (3092*1600px) - except an initial very rough pencil-sketch and a texture-overlay from a scanned carving-board where i sliced bread on all my life only to use it in this picture. ;D

I like the idea with the carving board too, you are even making art when you slice bread. Smile

incredible piece - it's really well done.

love the texture and style you did it in.

in terms of characture - i dunno, imho, (and my humble opinion is very lacking here), it seems they take traits from the person and overemphasize them - yet looking at the characture really really brings out the person's characteristics/personality. i dunno about the shaping of his face, for that, but the piece itself is incredible =D kudos

Thx all Smile

Yeah, the carving-board idea seems to be a good one, right? Wink

Well, in terms of caricature ... i only can tell, people know him recognize him at first glance, but that only means its not a "bad" caricature, but still noone said "its him, its him, absolutely stunnig, you've got him down to a T" - so i still have to learn a lot about thinking in caricatures i guess. Wink

I instantly recognized him as Max, so I guess you did some good work Wink
One thing that bothers me though is the corner on his right cheek side, imo that area should be alot more rounded.

P.S.: He might have a great voice, but Bonita wouldve probably had alot of more chance at the song-contest, caus Max's presentation is for ass and I bet that surely comes into play more than the german voters thought. Then I guess Germany wouldnt have liked a black girl representing them anyways, no matter how good she was. Well maybe they can get Max to split his unibrow and do something with his hair.
