for painting in photoshop with that "painted" look - try changing the opacity of the brush down lower - try different opacities to see what you like, or change 'em as you paint. =) then layer it up if you want a color saturated _________________ ~a shadow, a moment, a memory-- a monument, a legend, a legacy~ |

try this also: make one color in one area of your drawings then try to use DODGE TOOL which will make hard color to light color but in faded style. And try also to use BURN tool which will make light color to dark color or lets say it will burn the colored area. k _________________ "Nan Vi Sed Arte"

I am assuming you mean Julie Dillon's more recent pictures when you are asking for the more painting-like style. As far as I know, she actually used painter to color these images, and then fixed them in photoshop.
But in order to achieve this in photoshop, try to vary the brush edges between soft and hard, as well as the opacity as suggested. Personally, I rarely use DODGE and BURN, but instead use the SCREEN and MULTIPLY because they are much easier to control.
I hope that this helps at least a little. _________________
