Hello y'all!
I've been working on this piece for a couple of hours and thought I might need some advice with it. It shows two characters of a comic project I'm working on (the girl is the centaur's adopted daughter...).
Before I go much more into the details I wanted to get some feedback to find out about any major mistakes I might have overlooked. So what do you think about colors, atanomy, or just in general...?

and here (just in case someone's interested) some pics of the progress..

Thanks for your time Wink

there are a few things i noticed, though i'm no pro at stuff either :

i dont' know about this : but i almost feel as if she should be closer to the centaur b/c i'm thinking the weight of picking up such a large girl... maybe arms more up than out... but i dunno

also, he doesn't seem so thrilled and joyous about his time w/ his adopted daughter... maybe his facial expression could change a bit.

how young is the girl? b/c she has no hips it seems... maybe you could widen that part a little...

i maybe the lead in between the arm and the hand at the wrist part... maybe more "wristish"...

ok i dunno 'bout this either but maybe his body from the side is a bit wide? the chest is too far out maybe?

keep it up =)

hey, just trying to offer some suggestions - hope they help... =D

thanks for your replys, I thought I'll give it another try and so I started to work on it again this afternoon. Haven't yet changed very much on the centaur expect his arms, just trying to get started on this again.
The pic still is in an early stage but anyway, any majoir mistakes I can't see...?

The update shows a much better pose on the girl. But I think the centaur should have a slightly larger head, lower the head a little (now I think the neck looks too long, note that his shoulders would be raised slightly higher than normal in this pose), and straighten his arms - raise the elbow, because now the lower arm looks too long. Place his hands further up the girls armpits, thumbs in front and other fingers behind, it's the only way to straight-arm lift kids as heavy as this one seems... The girls pose is good as I said, because her shoulders are raised as if his hands were in the proper place. Keep that.
Anatomically this is a very difficult subject, why not take a pic of some relatives or friends as reference? I know I would. Smile

As for the lighting, it doesn't seem clear like you haven't worked it out yet, which I can understand because the poses are plenty hard enough to work out. It seems to be diffuse and from roughly overhead. But there's a sunset feeling in the colors. Maybe you should wait to work on the lighting. Maybe you should countinue working out the poses in lines first (using a bit of reference), then decide on light and shadow.
