K I've been working prettyhard to develop a simplistic style which can apeal to a broad audience and still try to give it it's own identity....
on http://www.heiny.tk
You can find a ew site I made which promotes this new style, I hope you all like it. The Critter Clinic button will send you right to the new site the other one is pretty old and needs updating...
Hope you all like it[/url] _________________ http://www.aycecards.com |

hey, cute site - i just started looking at it, but before i forget, i wanted to point out a few things - hopefully they'll be helpful
under "Concept" - there are three spelling errors (at least) in the first part #1.
variaty = variety
asside = aside
necesary = necessary
targetting = targeting ? <--- you might wanna check on that one. you had targeted, and that's correct i'm pretty sure, so i think targeting is w/ one 't' also.
enthousiastic = enthusiastically
careful, you want the site to look carefully and well created =)
good luck with it all - i'll be looking around it a bit more at least -that was just one of the first things i came across _________________ ~a shadow, a moment, a memory-- a monument, a legend, a legacy~ |

nice site...
but... for 35 per hour you color other peoples work?!
You 're crazy to require so much money considering your abilities... _________________ *

1. That's your opinion.
2. It was good enough for Hallmark
3. Also good enough for Mike Kunkel
4. Even if some people ask less that are arround the same level I bet they will take longer to do what I do making it eventually more expensive and harder to finish multiple things before a deadline.
5. You obviously have no idea what people ask for work like DTP/designing or webdesign.
6. On our own field there is being asked much more for less quality. _________________ http://www.aycecards.com

Thanks I will change those. English isn't my native language so mistakes easily get in there. Pretty funny that on the board where I forget to ask about the grammer and stuff I get the best remarks on the text.
*Updated it, thank you very much * _________________ http://www.aycecards.com |

to be honest your site kind of pisses me off. "simplistic style which can apeal to a broad audience and still try to give it it's own identity...."
Is a pretty bad way to describe your site. I don't really get why Mike Kunkel couldn't colour his own artwork if he could draw that well, but I don't really care either. It does look like you put work into the site, I just don't like it. |

You're right, I should get a better host... But first I wanted to test it. Well personally I think the flash suits the work but more importantly, I don't know #$%$# about html ![Embarassed](images/smiles/icon_redface.gif) _________________ http://www.aycecards.com |

Well it wasn't about the site it was more about the characters on that site because they are build on simplistic forms... So what pisses you of zbout that?

Then why mentioning it?

That's your good right.... I just want to try to please a broad audience with this style and I do consider it comercial. I'm also working on some thing which are more detailed and for a tougher crowd cause I myself would never buy anything from Critter Clinic if it was made by someone else. But there's nothing wrong trying to please a large crowd and tryin to make money out of it is there. It's just like Pokemon the mainstream loves it while for most hardcore gamers it's not good enough.
I'm also working on some things propably more suitable for people like you, the more demanding (which I count myself to) but it's not nearly finished and as long as my work in that field isn't good enough I don't wanna waste peoples time with it. _________________ http://www.aycecards.com |

The problem I have with the site is that there is too much text.
I'd like to SEE more.
What I see is cute ... but a little slow.
And I think this isn't the best forum for that kind of art.
You could get respect if you'd keep posting good images in that style.
Not if you dump a link to your site.
Not sure about comments.
Most people here mostly comment on more complex Illustrations.
They probably just don't know what to say except for "I like it" or "I don't like it" _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

i think there should be a bit more color in it. maybe even just light pastels or something.
It would be fun if the entire page was interactive instead of just the sheep behind the tree. Sound is always fun too.
You realy do need hosting, nobody wants to be spending alot of money at a site that dosen't spend the 7$ for a domain name, and the money for hosting. It realy isn't very expensive. I'm going to buy a domain and hosting for a year for 30$ (I'm splitting the costs with my sister who's site I will host).
Have a html mirror of your site. I forgot where I read this statistic, but it said that 10% of people online don't have flash players |

I see your point.... But because it's new it's lacking content yet. Because the site itself is part of the art I thought posting a link would be the wisest.
Perhaps indeed the Illustrations are lacking the depth which is more seen here on this board, guess I should have concidedered that earlier. But I already gained more knowledge by posting here then some of the other boards so it's far from useless... I didn't just post it to hear..."Oh how nice", what would I gain with that... Hope by taking the time replying to your post made that clear.
I did kinda hoped there were some people with a commercial eye that would have commented though... With commercial I mean: Pokemon, in our eyes most of the works shown here is much more apreciated, but still none of them will financially compete with Pokemon.
All the work I've seen here will catch my heart far more times then pokemon or anything resembling that.... But I do admire people who know how to move the public eith things like that and also try to create something like that. But at the same time I'm also working on stuff that would please the kind of crowd that comes here... _________________ http://www.aycecards.com |

I didn't put in any colo (accept for the red) because of the comic that's coming out next month it's in greyscale.... I also thought that the site would standout more in the jungle of coloured sites, but I'm doubting that now now that more and more people made that remark.....
I would love to have the knowledge of making the site completely nteractive but I would also have the problem of size.... I would like to keep it as small as possible and think the 111kb is already to big. So far as I've experienced sound on flash pages it really anoyed me and it does ad up with the filesize
Your right about the hosting but this is for a big part just a test that's why I wanted to know what the people would think.
HTML is out of the question because I lack any experience in it... But if people might get more nd more interested in the site and products I might consider it to let it be done by others.... Till then this will have to do
Thanks all for your comments I will take everything in considering.![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ http://www.aycecards.com |
