First one looks alright, though I'd like to see some cleaner coloring. Looks a little muddy in spots, especially along the walls. Think about your lighting, too, it seems very confused and misguided. You're indicating that there is some bright yellow light flooding the hallway, yet it's not affecting anything but the edges of the bricks. The purple from the sky seems unnecessarily potent as well, I wouldn't expect to see purple highlights like that.

The second one seems to have some perspective problems, mainly with the horizontal lines on the floor. As far as the rendering, this one has potential, but don't be afraid of shadows. Or really lighting a surface up, either. I would expect the two center pillars closest to the lantern to be pretty uniformly washed in light, and the outside to be fairly untouched. Some strong shadows outside the pillars, as well as along the back wall, would really make this image pop.
